Burkina Faso Launches Digital Platform Containing Over 11,000 Laws Of Ministries, Institutions

Burkina Faso has introduced a new digital platform that centralises over 11,000 laws and regulations from various ministries and institutions. The platform was created with the aim of improving decision-making within public administration.

This marks a significant shift from the past when Burkina Faso’s laws and statutes were often vague or unstated, leading to administrative challenges and a lack of transparency.

The platform, created by experts from the Prime Ministry, was unveiled on Wednesday, in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso’s capital. It provides access to legal texts governing public administration aimed at streamlining decision-making processes.

Chief of Staff to the Prime Minister, Ferdinand Ouédraogo, said the digital platform is a valuable tool for ensuring that all laws are gathered in one secure location and accessible to the Prime Minister’s office.

He said in the past, the lack of clear and available legal texts led to dysfunctions at the administrative level, creating unnecessary delays and hampering development.

Ouédraogo added that the platform is currently for internal use (of the prime ministry) but may later be extended to other government departments. He also said the platform is currently being tested to address any issues before full implementation.
