#EndBadGovernance: Nigerian Governors Meet In Abuja

147

Governors from the various states in Nigeria are currently convening in Abuja. They are meeting under the Nigeria Governors’ Forum at the NGF secretariat. Some governors reportedly arrived at the meeting venue around 8 pm on Wednesday.

The governors in attendance include Gov Lawal Dauda of Zamfara, Gov Bala Mohammed of Bauchi, and Gov Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta. Govs Alex Otti of Abia State, Professor Charles Soludo of Anambra State and Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau are also already on ground. Some governors, like Peter Mbah of Enugu and Babagana Zulum of Borno, sent their deputies to represent them.

While the agenda remains undisclosed, it is likely linked to the upcoming nationwide protests scheduled from August 1 to 10. These protests are being organised in response to economic challenges and governance issues. As a forum, the governors are most likely gathered to weigh in on the ongoing debate surrounding the proposed nationwide protest against poor governance.
