Kenya is bracing itself for another series of nationwide protests starting Tuesday, July 2nd, and Thursday, July 4th, 2024.

Kenyan youths disclosed this on Sunday with a trending #OccupyEverywhere hashtag on X and a street announcement as they headed towards the procession ground for the ones lost to the Ruto regime’s police brutality.

According to the youths, Tuesday, July 2nd, 2024, has been declared a public holiday, warning all Kenyan workers to join the protests or stay home.

It is notified for general information that in the exercise of the powers conferred by section 3 as read with section 2 (2) of the Public Holidays Act (Cap. 110) and the powers given by Generation Z after dismissing the Minister for Interior and Co-ordination of National Government declares Tuesday, 2nd July 2024 & Thursday 4th July 2024 a public holiday marking #OccupyEverywhere #RutoMustFall,” the statement said.

It is worth noting that following the events of the #RejectFinanceBill protests, the High Court of Kenya has prohibited police from using water cannons, tear gas, live ammunition, rubber bullets or other crude weapons or measures, deploying brute force or any form of violence against protesters.

A Kenyan journalist, Kennedy Wanderra, also disclosed on X that the High Court has warned the government against “any disobedience or non-observance of the order of the court served herewith will result in penal consequences to you and any other person(s) disobeying and not observing the same.”

Meanwhile, President William Ruto is expected to have a joint media interview at 7:00 p.m. today.
