On May 25, tragedy struck the Hollywood community as Johnny Wactor, renowned for his portrayal of Brando Corbin on General Hospital, fell victim to an act of violence in Los Angeles, resulting in his death. The 37-year-old actor was gunned down while seemingly attempting to prevent the theft of his car’s catalytic converter.

According to reports, Wactor had just finished his shift at a bustling downtown rooftop bar when he noticed suspicious activity around his vehicle. Mistaking the perpetrators for tow truck operators, he approached them, only to be met with gunfire without warning, as recounted by his distraught mother, Sharon Wactor.

The assailants swiftly fled the scene, leaving behind a trail of shock and devastation. Despite the swift arrival of paramedics, Wactor was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Wactor’s journey in acting began in 2007, marked by humble beginnings in minor roles on shows like Army Wives. Over the years, he steadily carved out a niche, gracing the screens of popular series such as NCIS, The OA, and Westworld. However, it was his recurring stint as Brandon Corbin on the iconic soap opera General Hospital that catapulted him into the spotlight, with an impressive 164 episodes to his name by 2022.

As the industry mourns the loss of one of its brightest stars, Johnny Wactor’s memory will forever remain etched in the annals of entertainment history.
