JAMB cited the need for meticulous scrutiny to ensure the credibility and integrity of the results, particularly addressing concerns regarding impersonation, mixed biometrics, and other malpractices.

Out of the 1,989,668 registered candidates, 80,810 were absent from the exam. The released results cover 1,842,464 candidates, with the remaining under investigation for verification and procedural inquiries into examination misconduct.

Furthermore, JAMB revealed its examination outreach to nine foreign centres, including Abidjan, Addis Ababa, Buea, Cotonou, London, Jeddah, and Johannesburg. This initiative aims to showcase Nigerian institutions globally and uphold academic standards.

The Board is finalising arrangements for conducting the 2024 UTME in these foreign centres, underscoring its commitment to promoting academic excellence and accessibility.

More details to follow as the investigation progresses.
