These arrests according to the police encompass a range of offences, including kidnapping, rape, murder, gun-running, and cultism, among others

Mr. Olagoke Omolaja Emmanuel, a Civil Engineer who was arrested on Thursday, 7th March 2024 as accused by one Subomi of gun and axe possession, has been released on free bail by the Anti-Cultism unit of Oyo Police Division.

As reported earlier, Mr. Emmanuel planned on visiting the Police station on Friday, March 8th to clear his name, but he was arrested on Friday, March 7th by the anti-cultism squad at Ido Road, along Osun-Ibadan axis before being taken to Magara Police Station for questioning.

This is following the police threats and harassment via tracking and suspecting him as a member of cultism. Meanwhile, this is after a strange text he received on March 3rd, accusing him of implicating Subomi by leaving a pistol, gun, and axe in his apartment when he came to Ibadan on February 16th of 2024.

It is worth noting that Mr. Emmanuel was roped in by Subomi and the strange individual who texted him.

However, during his visit to the station, the Police were not buying into his story until he showed the officers on duty the text message and WhatsApp conversation he had with the stranger – whom TrueCaller revealed as “Abbey from Iwo Road.”

According to Mr. Emmanuel, while speaking to West Africa Weekly, an officer of the police who called him aside demanded that he prove his innocence, and at the sight of the text and the number that had sent the strange message, the officer picked interest in his innocence of the case.

He further stated that his parent and elder brother came with a family lawyer so they explained to them that everything had been brought to book and they were trying to arrest the people involved in the case.

In the long run, I was granted bail for free I didn’t pay any money. I wasn’t touched or beaten. The evidence I gave to them made them release me on Friday night, which was on the 8th of March, 2024.

He further testified, “The Police had to interrogate Subomi for almost an hour or more before he confessed that he didn’t know me, and he mentioned the name of the person that owns the gun, but I don’t know the name of the person,” he said.
