Obi Calls for Transparency on N1.1 Trillion Support to Governors, Urges Investment in Production

Presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Gregory Obi, recently tweeted about the Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio’s announcement of a substantial financial support of N1.1 trillion to State Governors. Each state is set to receive N30 billion to alleviate the current hardships in the country.

While acknowledging the commendable gesture from the Federal Government, Obi emphasized the importance of transparency in the disbursement of such funds. He urged for detailed explanations to be provided to the public to ensure accountability and proper utilization of the support for the benefit of the people. Obi further stressed the need to shift from a culture of consuming scarce and borrowed resources towards investing in productive ventures.

He advocated for transparent and visible investment in production, human development, and future growth of the country to address present challenges effectively. Obi’s tweet underscores the urgency of transitioning from consumption to production to secure a lasting solution to Nigeria’s current issues.
