President Bola Tinubu returned to Abuja on Monday following a four-day official visit to Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia, where he participated in the 37th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of Heads of State and Government of the African Union (AU).

Touching down at the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport around 3:36 pm, President Tinubu was received by a delegation of senior government officials, spearheaded by the Secretary to the Government of the Federal (SGF), Senator George Akume.

During his time in Addis Ababa, Tinubu was appointed by the AU as its Champion for Human Resources for Health and Community Health Delivery Partnership.

Alongside fellow African leaders, he engaged in discussions to address common challenges across the continent and reorient the AU for enhanced service delivery in crucial sectors such as healthcare, commerce, and security.

Also, addressing the Assembly on Saturday, He announced Nigeria’s readiness to host the African Central Bank, in line with the agreements outlined in the Abuja Treaty.

The President also received backlash from Nigerians after he was spotted sleeping during a summit session.

Among those present at the airport to receive the President was his Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila; the National Security Adviser (NSA), Nuhu Ribadu; the Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodinma; Minister of State for Defense, Bello Matawalle; and the National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullah Ganduje.

Key security figures, including the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, and the Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS), Yusuf Bichi, were also at the airport.
