A loud explosion had just hit the heart of Ibadan, with residents from different locations confirming the loud echo and damaging impact on far and near buildings.

Ibadan is at the centre of the city of Oyo State; though known for the bomb of rocks, the blast radius of today’s explosion has left many houses far and wide damaged, with many reportedly injured. While the cause and exact location of the blast are still unknown, there are speculations of it being rock blast or gas explosion.

This is a sad shockwave of events as many residents are calling out on the government agencies to cater to the needs of victims. As of now, malls, cars, and buildings are reportedly in ruins at the impact of the blast radius spreading across the city.

Meanwhile, the State government has yet to give an official statement.

More details coming soon.
