Ondo: Chief Press Secretary Resigns

Richard Olatunde, the Chief Press Secretary to the late Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, tendered his resignation today with immediate effect. 

In a heartfelt letter dated December 27, 2023, Olatunde cited the untimely passing of Governor Akeredolu as the primary reason for his departure.

Expressing profound grief and sadness, Olatunde highlighted Governor Akeredolu’s exceptional qualities, labelling him a mentor, principal, and father figure.

He spoke of the late governor’s unparalleled courage, truthfulness, and honesty, which served as an enduring source of inspiration throughout his tenure.

Acknowledging the immense leadership and dedication displayed by Governor Akeredolu in driving the state’s development, Olatunde expressed a deep sense of loss following the demise of the revered leader.

He emphasized the need for collective honour and respect for Governor Akeredolu’s legacy during this trying time.

In his resignation letter, Olatunde conveyed gratitude to journalists, politicians, stakeholders, and all who supported and guided him during his tenure.

Olatunde noted that he cherished the invaluable experience of working alongside dedicated professionals and vowed to continue contributing to society, carrying forward the principles instilled by Governor Akeredolu.

Olatunde expressed confidence in the people’s resilience and pledged to contribute to the state’s development in any capacity possible.
