Bayern Leverkusen star Victor Boniface’s move to Al Nassr is officially off. Despite advanced negotiations, the Saudi club failed to give the final green light to complete the deal, as reported by Fabrizio Romano.
Meanwhile, Aston Villa’s Colombian forward Jhon Durán is set to move to Al Nassr. The deal has been finalised, with the Saudi Pro League club agreeing to pay a €77 million fixed fee plus add-ons.
Durán has accepted a long-term contract, with his medical scheduled for tomorrow before travelling to Saudi Arabia to finalise the switch.
Bayer Leverkusen’s sporting director, Simon Rolfes, confirmed Boniface’s deal had fallen, emphasising that the club is pleased to retain the 23-year-old.
There have been talks, but we are happy that he will be training with us today. I assume that he will stay, Rolfes said. He feels comfortable here, his attitude towards the club is unchanged.
Boniface has been a key player for Bayer Leverkusen this season, and his continued presence will be crucial for the club’s domestic and European ambitions.
With the Nigerian forward staying put, Al Nassr has turned to Durán, who will soon complete his move to the Middle East.
