Two Kenyan men who went missing in Mombasa city during the Anti-Finance Bill 2024 protests have been found dead, Citizen Digital reported.

One of the deceased, named Denis Otieno, was found to have been shot thrice, according to the family. Otieno’s family claimed he was not part of the protesters on the days he died.

The family had been looking for their 26-year-old kinsman for more than 15 days, with their phone calls to reach him receiving no response. The family got to know about his death on social media, after which they travelled to Mombasa to confirm his death.

Before his demise, Otieno had not spent up to a year in Mombasa, a city he came to after securing a job in a company there.

Meanwhile, the second deceased, identified as Joash Ombati, was shot by the police.

Both families called on President William Ruto to make sure he compensates all the families who lost their loved ones.
