TikTok Unveils New Reward Program to Boost Original Content Creation

333

TikTok has launched a reward program encouraging users to create search-optimised, original content. Previously, in beta testing, this initiative focused on four metrics: originality, play duration, search value, and audience engagement.

Creators will be rewarded based on the uniqueness of their content, viewer engagement, and relevance to trending search topics. A new Search Insights tool assists creators in aligning their content with TikTok’s requirements for “search value.” The program aims to help creators earn more by producing longer-form content.

TikTok emphasises the importance of originality, engagement, and content quality. Play duration considers watch time and completion rate, prioritising engaging content. Audience engagement, measured by likes, comments, and shares, boosts a creator’s content value. The search value of content is determined by its alignment with popular search terms.

To qualify for the program, creators must meet specific criteria, including having at least 10,000 followers and 100,000 views in the last 30 days. Since introducing longer videos in 2022, TikTok has seen increased interest in longer-form storytelling, with users spending half their time watching videos longer than one minute.
