In a recent press interview, Peter Gregory Obi, the 2023 presidential candidate, highlighted the urgent need for Africa to address its leadership challenges. He emphasized the significance of engaging African youths in a conversation to instil hope and initiate change. Obi, alongside esteemed voices like Prof P. L.

O Lumumba and Dr. Arikana had intended to participate in the ‘Igniting The Voices of Africa’ Convention organized by the New Africa Foundation in Accra, Ghana. Despite the event’s abrupt cancellation, the speakers stressed the pivotal role of leadership in unlocking Africa’s immense potential and overcoming the hurdles hindering growth and development.

Obi echoed the sentiments of the late Prof Achebe, emphasizing that leadership failure remains the primary obstacle impeding Africa’s progress. He urged for a collective commitment to dismantling corrupt leadership practices and fostering a brighter future for the continent, particularly in the hands of its youth.
