Feature films on the roster include After 30, Taiwo Egunjobi’s Fire and the Moth, Daniel Oriahi’s The Weekend, and Okechukwu Oku’s Blackout. Also screening are Biodun Stephen’s Trade by Bata, Lyndsey Efejoku’s For Amina, Sarah Kwaji’s Out of Darkness, Holmes Okechukwu Awa’s Soft Love, and Baker Karim’s The Dog. Each film offers a unique take on African life, identity, and global relevance.

After 30

Feature films in the official selection will compete for the Audience Choice Award (Prix du Public), determined by viewer votes during the festival.

On the short film slate are Abbesi Akhamie’s The Incredible Sensational Fiancée of Seyi Ajayi, Moses Ipadeola’s Ekun Iyawo, and Gilbert Lukalia’s 1992, among others. These shorts promise fresh narratives and inventive cinematography, showcasing the next wave of Nollywood talent.

The Nollywood Week Film Festival was founded in 2013 by Serge Noukoué and Nadira Shakur to bridge the gap between Nigerian cinema and global audiences and have more Nollywood events in France and Europe. Held annually in Paris, the festival has become a key international platform for filmmakers of African descent, fostering cross-cultural exchange and industry collaboration.

The 2025 edition is set for 7th to 11th of May. Fans and critics alike look forward to seeing how these films will challenge conventions and expand the footprint of African cinema.
