An epic Nollywood drama titled Ekpebiwo m is set to premiere in cinemas across Nigeria on November 8, 2024. The film, produced by Lewabo Inspirational Movies and distributed by Tribe Nation Theatrical Distribution Limited, explores the clash between faith and tradition in pre-colonial Eastern Nigeria.

The plot revolves around a village chief, portrayed by Nollywood veteran Chidi Mokeme, who defies his community by embracing Christianity. His transformation into an evangelist puts him at odds with his people, challenging his resolve as he faces rejection and opposition from those closest to him.

Leading the cast alongside Mokeme is Nollywood star Ini Edo, who plays the chief’s wife, grappling with fear and uncertainty over the impact of her husband’s conversion on their family’s status in the village. The ensemble cast includes seasoned actors Jide Kosoko, Alex Usifo, Chucks Chyke, and Ovunda Ihunwo, adding depth to the narrative.

Shock NG added that Ekpebiwo m is inspired by the Christian hymn “I Have Decided to Follow Jesus” and aims to depict the struggles of choosing faith over deeply rooted traditions. The film is directed and produced by renowned Nollywood filmmaker Matthew Ajallys, with Jane John-Nwankwo Ph.D serving as executive producer.
