Award-winning filmmaker Kemi Adetiba has officially announced the return of the “King of Boys” franchise. The highly anticipated third instalment of the series is set to hit cinemas in December 2025, marking four years since the last chapter, King of Boys: The Return of the King captivated audiences on Netflix.

Adetiba revealed the news yesterday, coinciding with her 45th birthday. She shared a teaser video featuring a call from the lead actress, Sola Sobowale, whose commanding voice brought back memories from the franchise. Accompanied by the teaser, Adetiba rallied fans in her caption, writing,

KOB Army….. ARISE!!!! It’s time. We MOOOOOVE⚔️. Signed: Your General⚔️

The announcement follows Adetiba’s earlier disclosure in April 2023 that she had three films in development, including King of Boys 3. The franchise began in 2018 with the debut film, King of Boys, a gripping crime-political thriller. It was the second movie directed by Kemi Adetiba after The Weddings Party. Its success led to the release of the Netflix series King of Boys: The Return of the King in 2021.

With its December 2025 release date, fans can look forward to another powerful instalment in the saga that has become a hallmark of Nollywood storytelling.
