Julius Malema, leader of South Africa’s Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) party is scheduled to arrive in Accra, Ghana on January 23, 2024 for a youth-focused event.

The event, organized by AriseGhana, aims to give young Ghanaians the opportunity to learn from the Pan Africanist convictions and activism of the EFF.

During his visit, Malema will pay a courtesy visit to John Agyekum Kufuor, as well as H.E. John Dramani Mahama, the two surviving former Presidents of Ghana, before laying a wreath at the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park in honour of the legendary Pan-Africanist and first President of Ghana, Dr. Osagyefo Kwame Nkrumah.

In a statement released on Monday, AriseGhana invited the general public to participate in what it described as a historic event.

The Co-Convener of AriseGhana, Cde Bernard Mornah, stated:

The quest for a truly liberated and economically independent Africa requires the ideas of people like Comrade Julius Malema and we at AriseGhana are more than elated as we look forward to tomorrow’s event.

It will be recalled that Julius Malema was earlier scheduled to speak in Accra alongside Zimbabwe’s Arikana Chihombori Quao, Kenya’s P.L.O Lumumba, and Nigeria’s Peter Obi at ‘The Convention’ organized by the New African Foundation on January 7, 2024. The event was abruptly canceled on the day of the event without prior notice.
