Iheanacho To Join Sevilla FC in Permanent Transfer Deal

Super Eagles forward, Kelechi Iheanacho has arrived in Spain to finalise his permanent transfer to La Liga club Sevilla FC.

The 27-year-old striker is set for a routine medical check before signing a two-year contract with the Rojiblancos.

The transfer of Iheanacho to Sevilla signals an end to a seven-year spell at Leicester City, during which he won the FA Cup in 2020/21 before scoring the winner in the Community Shield victory over Manchester City the year after.  Last month, he left King Power Stadium upon the expiration of his deal with the Foxes.

Iheanacho will team up with another Nigerian international, Chidera Ejuke, who put pen to paper with the Spanish club as a free agent early this summer.

This deal seals his status as the second-ever Nigerian player to turn out for Sevilla in the 134-year history of the team.

As reported, Sevilla is undertaking serious overhauls after a poor campaign last time out, where they finished 14th in La Liga.

The focus is on building up a new squad to perform much better in the next season.

Sevilla signed an agreement on July 29 with the Nigerian Premier Football League to help train coaches and develop young talents in the country.
