The Labour Party Presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has expressed sadness over the recurring insecurity and called on the Federal Government to intensify its efforts in curbing the situation in the country.
He made this call during a visit to the Al-Kadiryar family in Abuja today. The visit was to sympathetise with the family over the kidnap and tragic killing of Nabeeha, one of the kidnapped sisters.
He condemned the killing of the young girl by her abductors and charged the security agencies to ensure that no more lives are lost in this manner around the country. He said:
“I came to first have the opportunity of consoling the family and seeing young ones that are still in the hospital. It’s for all of us to sacrifice everything possible to see that this criminality is contained, it’s now beginning to affect everybody.
“Can you imagine what it is like for a father to lose his young daughter? Not just her, imagine Folashade’s family as well. Just imagine the trauma and what they are going through. So, for me, we must do everything possible to ensure that this is contained and stopped.”
He called on the government, security agencies and the citizens to work hard together to stop the insecurity being witnessed all over Nigeria.
