Nigerian music star Davido has hit yet another significant milestone, as his album Timeless has been officially certified Silver in the United Kingdom, following the sale of over 100,000 units. This feat makes Davido one of the few African artists whose body of work has achieved such a distinction in the British music scene.

The certification, confirmed by Chart Data, a global music analytics platform, is a testament to the album’s international reach and Davido’s growing influence in the global music scene.

Released on March 31, 2023, Timeless is more than just an album. It’s a collection of sounds and stories woven across 17 tracks, blending Afrobeats, reggae, dancehall, konto, highlife, and Afropop. It features collaborations with some of the most celebrated names in music, including Skepta, Asake, Dexta Daps, Angelique Kidjo, Cavemen, and Fave.

The album didn’t just break into the charts. It broke records. It became one of the most-streamed African albums in history, topping platforms like Spotify Nigeria, Boomplay, YouTube, and Audiomack within days of its release.

It also brought Davido critical acclaim. Timeless earned a Grammy nomination for Best Global Music Album, while hit singles like Unavailable and Feel received Grammy nods in the Best African Song Performance and Best Global Song Performance categories, respectively. Unavailable has also independently received Silver certification in the UK.

For fans worldwide, the album’s success felt personal. From Lagos to London, Toronto to D.C., they sang along during the sold-out Timeless Tour, which took Davido across Europe and North America, further solidifying his status as a global performer.

As Davido continues to make history, Timeless stands tall not only as a chart-topping album but as a cultural moment for Afrobeats and Africa.
