Acclaimed Nigerian writer Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie is making waves again with recent revelations: her deeply personal Vogue essay, an insightful Guardian feature, and the anticipation surrounding her upcoming book.

On February 13, 2025, Vogue published Adichie’s essay, The Story of My First Love, where she reflects on a teenage romance and the lingering weight of lost love. The piece has resonated deeply with readers, sparking widespread discussions. She wrote in the essay, “He was my first love, but in dying, he became an idealised future that I could have had. Maybe this is why my new novel, Dream Count, is haunted by the idea of the one who could have been, the one made perfect by loss…”

Days later, on February 15, 2025, TheGuardian ran an article exploring her literary influence, personal evolution, and the intimate aspects of her life she has recently shared, including the revelation that she is now a mother to twins.

Amid these literary and personal milestones, Adichie’s highly anticipated book is set for release, further fueling interest in her storytelling. As part of her latest feature, she was photographed wearing a striking piece by Nigerian designer Andrea Iyamah.

Adichie’s new book, Dream Count,  coming ten years after her last fictional work, is set to be released on March 4, 2025.
