While Kenyans are massively protesting against President William Ruto’s government, a Kenyan developer has created an AI tool using ChatGPT that reveals corruption cases involving politicians and government officials, both local and foreign.

The developer is known as BenwithSon on X (formerly Twitter).

The platform, titled “Corrupt Politicians GPT,” allows users to enter the name of a politician and get a chronological list of their corruption scandals, including the case details and outcomes.

The tool also indicates whether the politician was prosecuted or cleared of the allegations and provides sources for each case.

Furthermore, users can suggest missing information to improve accuracy.

According to Citizen Digital, a Kenyan media outlet, this is not the first time Kenyans have used AI for government transparency. Kelvin Onkundi developed the Finance Bill GPT to explain complex clauses in the Finance Bill. At the same time, Marion Kavengi created SHIF GPT to break down the new Social Health Insurance Fund (SHIF) that would replace the National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF).
