Burkina Faso Grants Broadcast Frequency to AES Radio

Burkina Faso’s Superior Council of Communication has approved the allocation of a broadcast frequency for the launch of Daandé Liptako, the radio station of the Confederation of Sahel States, which brings together Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger.

The agreement was signed by the President of the Superior Council of Communication, Wendingoudi Louis Modeste Ouédraogo, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Karamoko Jean Marie Traoré, in the presence of the Minister of Communication, Pingdwendé Gilbert Ouédraogo.

Under the terms of the agreement, the radio station has been granted a three year licence, renewable upon expiry. Daandé Liptako will operate on the 94.0 FM frequency.

Authorities say the new station is intended to strengthen communication and information sharing within the Confederation of Sahel States and promote regional cooperation among its member countries.
