At least six soldiers lost their lives, and military and school vehicles were set ablaze in a deadly attack by suspected Boko Haram militants over the weekend in Damboa Local Government Area of Borno State.

The assault, described as “well-coordinated,” has raised concerns about the resurgence of terrorist activities in northeastern Nigeria.

According to reports, the militants launched the attack on a military outpost in the area, targeting personnel and equipment in what eyewitnesses have called a “revenge mission.”

Sources told West Africa Weekly that the location of the attack was an outpost, referred to as a “location” by officers.  A video posted on X by Sahara Reporters shows the aftermath, including several dead officers and burned-out vehicles, adding to the growing evidence of the scale of the attack.

The attackers destroyed several military vehicles and set ablaze vehicles belonging to a local school, further disrupting activities in the already fragile region.
