Controversial social media personality Bobrisky has donated sets of chairs to the Kirikiri prison, where he is serving a jail term.

A video circulating online revealed that the chairs bearing Bobrisky’s name were donated to the prison’s visiting area.

The donation comes after Bobrisky’s recent conviction by Justice Abimbola Awogboro on charges related to the abuse and mutilation of Naira notes. Bobrisky was sentenced to six months in jail last week after he pleaded guilty to four counts of tampering with N490,000 by spraying, following his arrest and arraignment by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Justice Awogboro emphasised the sentence’s importance as a deterrent against similar offences involving the Nigerian currency. The judge ordered that Bobrisky’s jail term begin on March 24, 2024, the day of his arrest.

The videos showcasing chairs with Bobrisky’s name suggest a kind gesture to the Nigeria Correctional Service.

This charitable act has sparked various reactions from Nigerians, with some commending Bobrisky for his generosity while others questioning the motives behind the donation.
