AMVCA 2025: Seven Doors And Lisabi Lead Wins | Full Winners List

The 11th edition of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) lit up Lagos on Saturday night, 10th May 2025, with Femi Adebayo’s Seven Doors and Adedimeji Lateef’s Lisabi stealing the show.

Both films secured three wins each at the AMVCAs, cementing their place as the night’s biggest winners. Seven Doors earned Best Music Score, Best Lead Actor, and Best Lead Actress accolades.

Tolu Obanro was honoured for his compelling music score, while Chioma Chukwuka and Femi Adebayo were recognised for their powerful lead performances. Seven Doors follows the story of a couple whose peaceful life is shaken when the husband is chosen as king, only for an ancient prophecy to cast a shadow over their future.

Lisabi: The Uprising won Best Indigenous Language (West Africa), Best Art Direction and Best Make-Up. Lisabi: The Uprising tells the legendary tale of an 18th-century Egba farmer who leads a historic rebellion against the Oyo Empire, securing independence for his people after centuries of oppression.

The award ceremony honoured achievements in categories ranging from drama to comedy, documentaries and more. With emotional speeches, surprise wins, and unforgettable performances, the night was filled with powerful moments that touched the audience in the hall and fans watching from home.

Held in Lagos, Nigeria, AMVCA 11 was more than just a night of awards. It was a reminder of how rich, diverse, and vibrant African storytelling has become. It was also a reminder of how exquisite Nigerian fashion designers are. From the red carpet fashion to the applause for first-time winners, the event showcased the growing global influence of African creatives.

While the spotlight shone on prominent names, the night also allowed new voices to be heard and celebrated.
