Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State has officially dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), confirming an April exposé by West Africa Weekly.

The report raised serious concerns about internal party dealings and governance practices and appears to have triggered the governor’s decision to part ways with the PDP.

While the governor has yet to formally announce his next political move, sources close to the matter suggest mounting pressure within the party and public backlash may have influenced his exit.

This development marks a significant shift in Akwa Ibom’s political landscape. It could have broader implications for the PDP’s influence in the South-South region ahead of the next election cycle.

More updates will follow as the story develops.
