The United Socialist Party of Venezuela has praised the revolutionary momentum driven by Burkina Faso’s Popular Progressive Revolution during a high level diplomatic meeting in Ouagadougou.

Burkina Faso’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Karamoko Jean Marie Traoré, received a delegation from the Venezuelan party, which was in the country to attend the international conference of actors of the Popular Progressive Revolution. The Venezuelan delegation was led by Ricardo Molina, who expressed his party’s support and solidarity with the Burkinabe people in their quest for sovereignty and revolutionary transformation.

During the meeting, the PSUV also welcomed the vision carried by Burkina Faso’s authorities and indicated its readiness to strengthen cooperation between the two nations around shared values of sovereignty, social justice, and the fight against neocolonialism. The delegation commended the Burkinabe leadership for its commitment to breaking away from traditional Western aligned power structures and forging new partnerships with like minded nations across the Global South.

Ricardo Molina further congratulated Burkinabe students living in Venezuela for their discipline and dedication, describing them as an exemplary community among the various nationalities present in the South American country. He noted that these students embody the spirit of pan Africanism and internationalist solidarity that both nations seek to promote through their ongoing diplomatic and educational exchanges.

On his part, Foreign Minister Traoré welcomed this gesture of fraternity between Ouagadougou and Caracas, highlighting the convergence of visions between the two nations in the face of international challenges and imperialist systems. He reaffirmed Burkina Faso’s commitment to deepening ties with Venezuela across multiple strategic sectors, including energy, agriculture, defence, and technical training.

Relations between Burkina Faso and Venezuela have been gradually strengthening through diplomatic, economic, and cultural exchanges in recent months. Both nations are governed by leaders who have taken firm stances against Western influence, with Burkina Faso under Captain Ibrahim Traoré aligning closely with other Alliance of Sahel States members, while Venezuela continues to resist international sanctions and political pressure from the United States and European Union. The conference of actors of the Popular Progressive Revolution, which brought the Venezuelan delegation to Ouagadougou, is seen as part of a broader effort to build an alternative international architecture rooted in anti imperialist and anti colonial principles.
