527

The Minister for Communications, Digital Technology and Innovation, Ghana, Hon. Samuel Nartey George, has announced the arrest of 32 Nigerians in Kasoa Tuba. He made this known on his social media handle after an operation carried out in the early hours of Saturday, 13 December, commending the efforts of the Cyber Security Authority of Ghana in thwarting this syndicate.

Kudos to the team at the Cyber Security Authority of Ghana once again. This dawn, another massive blow has been struck against cybercrime in Ghana. A joint operation between the Authority and National Security resulted in the arrest of 32 Nigerians operating a romance scam syndicate in Kasoa Tuba, he said.

We will continue to support the Authority in its efforts to do more as we make Ghana an unattractive destination for cybercrimes, he added.

The Minister has been diligent in ensuring that collaborative efforts with sister agencies such as the Criminal Investigative Department (CID), the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB), and the Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) bring cybercrime perpetrators to book and enhance Ghana’s international image.
