Mali: Schools Reopen Gradually After Two-Week Suspension

Classes have resumed across Bamako and several regions of Mali after a two-week suspension caused by fuel shortages linked to a blockade imposed by the jihadist group JNIM on fuel imports.

According to the Ministry of Education, lessons are restarting progressively, though some teachers in rural areas are still struggling to reach their schools due to limited fuel availability.

The reopening marks a gradual return to normalcy after days of disruption severely affecting daily life and the country’s overall functioning.
