Mali’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Abdoulaye Diop, is representing the country at the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly currently underway in New York.

Minister Diop began the high-level week of the Assembly on Monday by attending the commemorative meeting marking the 80th anniversary of the founding of the United Nations.

As part of his engagements, he delivered a statement at the high-level meeting commemorating the 30th anniversary of the Fourth World Conference on Women, demonstrating Mali’s commitment to advancing gender equality and empowering women.

The Minister also participated in an interactive dialogue organised by the International Organisation for Migration (IOM), where he called for a more comprehensive and humane approach to migration issues. His intervention underscored the need for shared responsibility and enhanced international cooperation to address the challenges and opportunities associated with migration.

His presence in New York reflects Mali’s active role in global diplomacy and its engagement in multilateral efforts to promote peace, development, and international solidarity.
