Provisional results from the Ghana 2024 presidential elections has indicated that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate, Mr John Dramani Mahama, is currently leading the New Patriotic Party (NPP) candidate, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, as the Electoral Commission (EC) continues to announce results from constituencies across the country.

The EC is collating results from polling and collation centres nationwide, providing updates as counting progresses.

Meanwhile, both major political parties, the NDC and the NPP, have addressed their supporters, urging calm and restraint during this critical phase of the electoral process.

At separate press conferences, the NPP leadership appealed to their supporters to conduct themselves appropriately while closely monitoring the collation and announcement of results.

The NDC, while optimistic about the emerging figures, has instructed its followers to remain vigilant but avoid premature celebrations as they await the official declaration of results.

This year’s elections witnessed 13 presidential candidates vying for the highest office in the country, with 807 parliamentary candidates contesting for seats in Ghana’s legislature.

The closely watched race between Mahama and Dr Bawumia has dominated national discourse, with citizens eagerly anticipating the final results from the EC.
