Three individuals suspected of vote buying have been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in Egor Local Government Area during the ongoing Edo governorship election.
The suspects, two men and a woman were taken into custody.
Some residents, however, protested the arrests, alleging unfair treatment, according to Daily Trust.
Deputy Inspector-General of Police Frank Mba, had stated Friday that the police and EFCC were collaborating to prevent vote buying and other election-related offences. He also mentioned that security forces would act against those producing fake election tags.
