Onyinyechi Mark Wins Nigeria’s First Gold Medal at Paris 2024 Paralympics, Sets New World Record

Mark defeated formidable rivals, including China’s Cui Jianjin, who secured the silver medal with a lift of 140kg, and Mexico’s Amelia Perez, who claimed the bronze with a 130kg effort.

From the onset, it was clear that Mark was in peak form, steadily breaking both the Paralympic and world records en route to her victory.

Her final lift of 147kg cemented her as a world-class athlete in Paralympic powerlifting.
