Police Fires Teargas At Peaceful Protesters in Bauchi

The police in Bauchi have reportedly fired tear gas at peaceful protesters in the state capital. According to Channels TV, the protesters demanded a meeting with the Emir.

But despite the intimidation of the protesters by the Police, they remained on the streets, singing, chanting and marching.

The #EndBadGovernance is a nationwide protest that kicked off today, August 1, in major cities across the country.

Citizens are protesting over the economic hardship caused by government policies.

They demanded the return of fuel subsidy and an end to hunger and insecurity.
