Yemi Alade Unveils Sixth Album ‘Rebel Queen’

Yemi Alade, one of Africa’s leading musical talents, has released her sixth studio album, “Rebel Queen,” which celebrates her deep-rooted African heritage through a diverse array of sounds and genres.

“Rebel Queen” saw Alade touch many genres to give off a rich historical energy to the album. The album has a touch of Afropop, amapiano, afrobeats, reggae, R&B and more. This collection reflects her unyielding passion for her African roots, delivering a vibrant and eclectic mix that aims to captivate audiences globally.

Yemi Alade infused “Rebel Queen” with her multilingual abilities. She sings in Yoruba, English, Igbo, French, and Swahili, emphasising her commitment to sharing African music and culture worldwide.

The 16-track album is enriched with notable collaborations, featuring Beninese music icon Angélique Kidjo on “African Woman,” Jamaican reggae artist Ziggy Marley on “Peace and Love,” Congolese rapper Innoss’B on “Lipeka,” and dancehall star Konshens on the “Baddie” remix. These collaborations highlight Alade’s versatility.
