Israeli Airstrikes Kill 57 Palestinians in Gaza, Injures Many

A series of Israeli air strikes across the Gaza Strip have, on Tuesday killed at least 50 Palestinians and injured dozens more, according to Gaza health officials.

The strikes targeted southern and central regions, including Rafah and Khan Younis, where an airstrike killed a family of four. Another airstrike on a car in Khan Younis resulted in 17 deaths and 26 injuries.

In Nuseirat, an Israeli airstrike on a UN-run school housing displaced families killed 23 people. The Israeli military claimed the school strike targeted terrorists operating from the building. The attacks have raised concerns about the safety of civilians in designated humanitarian zones.

Israeli military efforts are allegedly aimed at eradicating Hamas following their attack on southern Israel on October 7, which killed 1,200 people and took 251 hostages. Since then, Gaza health authorities have reported over 38,710 deaths in the territory. Israeli forces claimed to have eliminated half of Hamas’ military leadership and killed or captured around 14,000 fighters.

Attempts to broker a ceasefire have stalled, with Hamas accusing Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of adding conditions to avoid an agreement. Despite ongoing negotiations led by Arab mediators and the United States, the conflict shows no sign of resolution.
