Lagos Court Sir Jarus

The Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA) has announced that the court where the Lagos State Police Command charged Suraj Oyewale (also known as Sir Jarus) has dismissed the domestic violence case against him.

The DSVA said that during court proceedings, his spouse, the alleged survivor, denied all allegations of domestic violence against her and requested for the case to be withdrawn against her husband.

The magistrate court ruled that it would strike out the charges on the condition that the defendant shut down his Twitter blog for one month and attend counselling sessions at the Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency.

The matter was adjourned to September 30, 2024, for compliance with the agency’s report.

West Africa Weekly reported that Sir Jarus, the CEO of Jarus Homes and Travels, admitted on X to physically abusing his wife to force her to accept his decision to take a second wife.

The Lagos State government, through the DSVA, announced on Thursday that he was charged in court with two counts bordering on assault and conduct likely to cause a breach of peace.
