The Global Prolife Alliance (GPA), has urged the Nigerian National Assembly to summon Bill Gates and Dr Akinwumi Adeshina to testify before the Committee on Agriculture on Genetically Modified Organisms (GMO) seeds.
GPA and the Community Outreach for Development and Welfare Advocacy (CODWA) called on the House of Representatives to suspend further actions on GMO crops, which was approved in January 2024.
In a press statement released on Monday, the GPA said it welcomed the commencement of the investigation into GMO seeds by the Committee on Agriculture.
The statement signed by its Chairman, Dr Philip Njamenze, GPA demanded an outright ban of all GMO seeds in Nigeria, alleging that they are the source of insecurity in the country.
Njamenze accused the biotechnology vendors of GMO seeds of sponsoring terrorists to kill natural seed farmers to stop competition against GMO seeds.
The group also cited the United States Council on Foreign Relations (USCFR), that between 2015 and 2018, no fewer than 37,500 farmers who did not comply were killed.
According to Njamenze, the farmers were introduced the Electronic Wallet cell phones, which are GPS-enabled by private armed mercenaries.
However, findings revealed that Bill Gates and Melinda Foundation spend their agricultural development funds on influencing policy and policymakers in Sub-Saharan Africa to remove any barriers in the way of GMOs for supply chain domination.
