Former Chairman of the Park Management System (PMS) in Oyo State, Lamidi Mukaila, popularly known as Auxiliary, has been paraded by the State Commissioner of Police, Hamzat Adebola, following his arrest by the Department of State Services (DSS).

Auxiliary was apprehended at his residence in Olodo, Ibadan, after months of being declared wanted by the police for his alleged involvement in various criminal activities including armed robbery, kidnapping, and murder.

Adebola disclosed that Auxiliary’s arrest was the culmination of a thorough and intelligence-led operation, which involved the use of technology, collaboration with sister security agencies, and community policing efforts.

The police recovered a cache of weapons and other incriminating items in Auxiliary’s possession, including firearms, ammunition, knives, mobile phones, charms, and a substantial amount of cash.

Adebola emphasised that Auxiliary would face prosecution for his alleged crimes, expressing gratitude to the public for providing valuable information to combat crime in the state.

He reassured the public of the police command’s unwavering commitment to tackling criminal elements intent on destabilising the peace and progress of Oyo State.

Governor Seyi Makinde had in June 2023, dismissed Auxiliary from his position as Chairman of the PMS, citing the need to maintain one government in the state.

The dissolution of the PMS was announced by the governor’s former Chief of Staff, Segun Ogunwuyi, with the subsequent appointment of Oluwatomiwa Omolewa as the new chairman.
