Peter Obi, the Labour Party presidential candidate, has expressed his deep concern and condemnation over the recent deportation of citizens predominantly from Osun State by Lagos State authorities.

The incident has sparked outrage and raised questions about the principles of unity, fairness, and justice within Nigeria.

Obi emphasised the issue’s significance, stating that it transcends regional boundaries and affects all Nigerians who uphold the values of national cohesion and development.

He described the deportation as “distasteful” and warned of its potential far-reaching effects on the unity and progress of the nation.

Obi stressed that every Nigerian deserves to be treated with dignity and respect regardless of their origin or residence.

”Our constitution guarantees every Nigerian citizen the right to reside and find livelihood in any and every part of the federation, he stated.

He reminded fellow citizens of their collective duty to uphold the values of unity, fairness, and justice and to oppose any form of discrimination or injustice.

Obi urged Nigerians to remain calm and vigilant as investigations proceed. He mentioned that security agencies in Osun State are closely monitoring the situation to ensure the safety and well-being of the deported youths.
