Residents lament as fuel sells for N1,500 per litre in Ado-Ekiti

As fuel scarcity continues to affect different states in the country, Ado-Ekiti, residents are not left out, with skyrocketing prices and allegations of bribery at petrol stations.

With the cost of petrol hitting N1,500 per litre, according to AIT.

In conversations with some of the affected buyers, he lamented,

There should be a stop to all this nonsense and shenanigans. There have been a lot of people here since yesterday, there is no fuel, and if you want to buy the fuel, you have to pay extra money. They are collecting bribes.

The queues at different petrol stations left people frustrated, where people spend hours waiting only to face disappointment as stations close prematurely.

You have to accept the situation when you spend hours in queues, and even eventually, in trying to get the fuel, the filling stations will close early, remarked a resident. This is unfair, and the government has not given us convincing reasons why we have to celebrate workers’ day with fuel scarcity, he stated.

Some of the residents recall the optimism that followed President Tinubu’s announcement regarding the removal of fuel subsidies. However, instead of relief, they are met with exorbitant prices and an arduous procurement process.
