Iran Impose Sanctions on US, UK for Supporting Israel

Iran sanctions

Iran has imposed sanctions on American and British individuals and organisations for supporting Israel in its conflict with Hamas.

The sanctions, announced by Iran’s foreign ministry, targeted seven Americans, among them General Bryan P. Fenton, who leads the US special operations command, and Vice Admiral Brad Cooper, previously in charge of the US Navy’s Fifth Fleet.

British officials and organisations affected include Secretary of State for Defence Grant Shapps, British Army strategic command’s James Hockenhull, and the UK Royal Navy operating in the Red Sea.

The sanctions also targeted US firms such as Lockheed Martin and Chevron, along with British counterparts Elbit Systems, Parker Meggitt, and Rafael UK.

The measures include blocking financial transactions and assets in Iran and banning entry to Iranian territory, according to the ministry.

The conflict between Israel and Hamas began after a Palestinian attack on Israel in October, leading to casualties on both sides.

These sanctions come after the US and UK placed sanctions on Iran following its drone and missile attack on Israel
