Forbes Africa commemorates a decade of its annual 30 Under 30 list in the latest April/May 2024 edition, showcasing the remarkable talent pool across the African continent, home to the world’s youngest population.

The list spotlights youthful, ambitious leaders who are shaping Africa across various sectors including entertainment, education, sports, technology, healthcare, and the arts.

Notable Nigerians featured on the list include singer-songwriter Fireboy DML, footballer Victor Osimhen, technology entrepreneur Josiah Akinloye, healthcare innovator Ruth Erikan James, athlete Tobi Amusan, and fintech pioneer Abioye Oyetunji.

The list also celebrated individuals like South African musician Tyla Laura Seethal, engineering entrepreneur Peace Wutawunashe, healthcare director Kenneth M. Njeru, and tech innovator Calvin Usiri.

Selected from a pool of over a thousand applicants, the finalists underwent a rigorous evaluation process led by Forbes Africa’s editorial team and a panel of external judges, including industry experts and former 30 Under 30 alumni. The vetting process began in late 2023 with the support of audit partner SNG Grant Thornton.

Reflecting on the milestone, Forbes Africa’s managing editor Renuka Methil remarked,

For a decade, we have spotlighted Africa’s youthful potential and resilience. The 10th 30 Under 30 list encapsulates the ambition and energy of these purpose-driven achievers who are poised to become tomorrow’s leaders, driving positive change in their countries, companies, and communities.

In conjunction with the list release, Forbes will host the #Under30Summit in Gaborone, Botswana, from May 5th to 8th, bringing together the continent’s brightest young minds for networking and collaboration opportunities.
