10th National Assembly publishes Bills Progression Chart for 2023-2027

The 10th National Assembly (NASS) has published the Bills Progression Chart (BPC) dating back from the year 2023 to 2027 timeline as released by the Senate Bills Department.

The Bill Progression Chart encompasses 292 bills with first, second, and third reading (passed) into law to the effect as proposed by the sponsors who are senate members of NASS.

As released by the Senate Bills Department, members of the public can now access the chart with a projected timeline to participate in future plenary sittings of bill passage.

However, each bill proposed or as passed shows respective sponsors and committees. The release of the BPC follows the Senate House’s Order paper for Wednesday, 20th March 2024.

Meanwhile, the order paper reveals the presentation of reports on the committee on Student Loans, Scholarships, and Higher Education financing, which was later assented to by the President of Nigeria, Bola Tinubu.

“That the House do receive the Report of the Committee on Student Loan, Scholarships and Higher Education Financing on a Bill for an Act to Repeal the Student Loans (Access to Higher Education) Act 2023 and Enact the Student Loans (Access to Higher Education) Bill, 2024 to Establish the Nigerian Education Loan Fund as a Body Corporate to Receive, Manage and invest Funds to provide Loans to Nigerians for Higher Education, Vocational Training and Skills Acquisition, and for Related Matters (HB. 1266),” the report reads.
