Telegram Introduces Business Features to Challenge Other Messaging Apps

229

Telegram launches Telegram Business, a suite of features tailored for businesses, including customisable start pages, preset replies, and chatbots. Public channels with 1,000+ subscribers can now earn 50% of ad revenue.

Founder Pavel Durov aims for profitability by 2025, with Premium subscriptions at $4.99/month. Premium surpassed 5 million subscribers in January 2024. Telegram Business offers tools like customisable greetings, quick replies, and chat categorisation. Plans include AI-powered chatbots.

While Premium access is required, there’s no extra cost for business features. Telegram also generates revenue through ad revenue sharing with toncoin. These initiatives position Telegram as a strong competitor to Meta’s messaging apps, offering businesses a compelling alternative for communication and monetisation.
