Nigerian music icon, Davido, has reached an out-of-court settlement in the breach of contract lawsuit filed against him by Brownhill Investment Company Limited, led by Amaju Pinnick.

Initially, Pinnick accused Davido of failing to fulfill his performance obligations at an event despite receiving $94,600. The lawsuit sought N2.3 billion in damages, including legal fees and the cost of filing the suit.

Following negotiations, both parties agreed to resolve the matter without going to trial. The Delta State High Court approved the settlement, wherein Davido agreed to pay Brownhill Investment Company Limited N30 million within seven days.

As part of the agreement, Davido will perform live at the upcoming ‘Warri Again’ concert on October 4, 2024, and the $94,500 already paid by the claimant will be considered payment for the event’s performance.

Additionally, Davido will post a statement on his social media platforms confirming the settlement, and the parties agreed to withdraw any appeals related to the case.

The settlement also includes provisions for Brownhill Investment Company Limited to provide a private jet, accommodation, and logistics for Davido’s performance at the ‘Warri Again’ concert.

Overall, both parties have resolved their differences, ensuring a smooth resolution to the dispute.
