In what can be described as fear of violent military incursion, the residents of Okuama community in Delta State have been forced to flee their homes, seeking refuge in the thickets of the surrounding bush. This is in response to the fear of military retaliation for the killing of 16 soldiers and officers in the community last month.

According to VANGUARD, “the Chief of Defense Staff, General Christopher Musa, identified “General” Endurance Amagbein as the mastermind. The residents have been told it is not time to return home.”

Also, weeks earlier, one @IamMaxObesi made a post on X showing the residents of Igbomotoru community in Southern Ijaw LGA of Bayelsa State living in the bush as a result of the alleged invasion of their community by soldiers on Sunday, 17th March 2024.

However, efforts to reach sources around the community have yielded no results. Meanwhile, the post has an embedded video showing people in the thick forest trying to escape from violence.
