Woman Calls Out Religious and Political Leaders in Nigeria
L-R: Lady Adunni, Pastor E.A. Adeboye

A critic, Lady Adunni, who focuses on analysing trending norms of religious and family beliefs on social media, has recently criticised the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, for failure to speak truth to power.

This critic follows the controversial opinion of the Pastor, who expressed that “Nigeria’s problem is spiritual.”

However, Nigerians have deemed such a statement unpatriotic yet insensitive to the plight of the people due to the government’s failure to solve the issues of economic, security, and food instabilities.

Adunni also criticised that the problem of Nigerians is not spiritual but political while urging Pastor Adeboye to stop speaking on matters that concern Nigerians since he can’t tell the truth.

In a viral video, where the Pastor was pleading for God’s mercy over Nigeria and Nigerians, Adunni asked, “You said we are all suffering, you that have a private jet is suffering? Or that your son Leke and his wife who lives in a big house in the United States are suffering?”

Furthermore, Adunni expressed that mercy doesn’t fix the country’s problem while citing South Korea and other nations that are practical in dealing with governance as examples of countries with good leadership.

Also, you mentioned Mercy. Is it mercy that was used to build America, the UK, Germany, Canada, Norway, Netherlands as a good society? Even Rwanda beside us was it pleading and mercy that was used to build Rwanda a decent country in Africa? Why does your god desire rites and rituals of begging and shouts for mercy? And as much as we scream and shout in church, there have been no visible improvements. Sir, stop praying for Nigeria. Making Nigeria work is not by mercy,” she added.

Meanwhile, religion and politics remain a tool of control, as earlier reported.
